At the nursery (when it was nice and sunny!) we looked at the life cycle of a butterfly, read and acted out ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and most importantly we made the lovely butterfly feeders.

The children enjoyed mixing sugar and water to make ‘nectar’, and then carefully measured five spoons of nectar per feeder, finally and very quietly not to scare the butterflies away we hung the feeders on to a tree in the garden, and waited for the butterflies to arrive. Wonderful!
