Welcome back to a new term and school year at Rainbow Montessori! As well as welcoming back all of you, we have Ena, Alfie, Alexandra, Conrad, Eita, Ektoras, Frederick, Michael, Milo and Rafael joining us and we’d like to offer them a warm welcome to the Rainbow family. If you see a new mum, dad or nanny please don’t hesitate to say hello!
This term we welcome Miss Sofia and Miss Christina from our Highgate Nursery to our wonderful team at West Hampstead.
Your child has been allocated a member of staff as a key person who along with all members of staff will support, observe and plan for them. Please check the list on the notice board to familiarise yourself with their key person.
We will be starting our school year with an emphasis on Grace and Courtesy lessons in order to resettle our returning children and help to settle our newcomers. These lessons are important as they give the children structure and routine. Through this we hope to encourage independence as well as a sense of community among all the children and staff. Collective and individual responsibility is important to us at nursery.
This term our theme is Autumn which will allow us to explore the season as it unfolds as well as the many festivals that take place in it. If you have any autumn finds or books that you would like to share with us, please bring them in and give to Miss Raluca at the door. If you as a parent would like to share one of the festivals or any special skills with us, please speak to Miss Raluca at the door so we can arrange an appropriate time for a visit. We will also be introducing TRADITIONAL NURSERY RHYMES.
We will be exploring together the beauty of diversity and will end the term with a class show. Details of the upcoming topic can be found on our weekly blog and everyone will be kept up to date with these through our notice board.
The door is open between 8:30am - 9:00am and Miss Raluca welcomes the children. We close the door at 9:00am in order to start our day with the children. If you are dropping off siblings or cannot make it by 9:00am regularly for any reason please speak to Miss Raluca, otherwise we would appreciate a prompt drop off to avoid disruption to the children’s work cycle.
Please ensure your child has at least two complete, labelled change of clothes (including socks) in their shoe bag and children's shoes are suitable for them to put on themselves, encouraging independence.
With the weather growing colder and wetter we ask that the children have gloves, scarfs and hats to keep them warm while using the garden.
Please remember to sign up to EYLog so you can access our observations of your child. You should have received an e-mail with a pin number in order for you to set up your account. If there are any problems, please check your spam folder or let us know so the e-mail can be resent.
We are a nut free nursery. So please take this into consideration when sending in snack/lunch.
Once again, we just want to say how delighted we all are to embark on another year and another journey together. We look forward to making new friends and new memories here at Rainbow. It will be a fun, productive and educational experience for all! We as a team are here to support you and the children in any way we can.
Best wishes from the Rainbow Montessori West Hampstead Team,
Miss Raluca, Miss Stacey, Miss Marta, Miss Azusa, Miss Siobhan, Miss Sofia and Miss Cristina
