This week at Sherriff Road the children have been enjoying preparing for Halloween by contributing their own experiences on Halloween. Children were also joined by a teacher for pumpkin designing and a small discussion was given on Halloween.
We would like to take this opportunity and say a huge thank you to our special guest Raki (Anushka’s mum) who joined us this week for a cultural lesson to help us celebrate Diwali.
Small groups of children were invited to join Raki for a story, own experiences, art work, dressing up and even a small gift was given to demonstrate how Diwali is celebrated followed by a traditional sweet.
Thank you for all your effort☺
The children explored the following areas:
*Physical Development: pumpkin models out of playdough
*Art and Crafts: pumpkin and bat designing
*Understanding of The World: Diwali story
*Science: Mixing colours
Today, Friday 20th October 2017
we also remembered Miss Linda.
The children and staff celebrated this day by wearing something pink (Miss Linda’s favourite colour) and we all released balloons in her memory!
Please enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful Half-Term.
