Queen’s Park

The Rainbow Montessori School includes two beautiful nurseries in prime locations throughout North West London. Our very first nursery was established by Rainbow’s founder, Linda Madden, in our West Hampstead premises in 1982 and was followed with the opening of a second nursery in Highgate Village the following year and by Queen’s Park in 2009. Our nurseries cater for children aged 2 through to 5 years old.
Our ‘Queens Park’ Rainbow Montessori Nursery located in the heart of Queens Park is Rainbow’s most recent addition having opened in 2009. Our ‘Queens Park’ nursery is situated on Salsbury Road in a bright, open plan church hall close to all main transport links and the convenience of the high street. As with all our Rainbow Nurseries, Queens Park follows traditional Montessorian teaching methods and structure. This together with its recent refurbishment and its big, beautiful garden/play area makes it the ideal Montessori Nursery for your child.
At Rainbow we always strive to provide the best quality environment and educational materials for your child- Queens Park is MEAB accredited and all our teachers are fully qualified in Montessori education by recognized Montessori Training Colleges.
The curriculum at Queens Park is very varied and always fun filled! If you would like to find out more about what our Queens Park Nursery gets up to and what activities and outings they have planned please feel free to take a peek at our public blog.

Our Teachers

Tsehay Alemayehu

Head Teacher - Mont. Dip. MCI

Hello, my name is Tsehay (pronounced Se’ha-y) and I am delighted to be part of Rainbow Montessori School Nurseries.

I am originally from Ethiopia and I have been living here in the UK since 1991. I gained my Montessori Early Years Teaching diploma from MCI, London, and I have been working in Montessori environments for the last 7 years. I am a mother of two children aged 14 and 11.

I enjoy working with children and I am enthusiastic about delivering the Montessori way of education. I believe Montessori philosophy and method of teaching are the best start for children and equip the individual child for life in a wider sense.

I very much look forward to meeting you all.

Miss Tsehay

Christina Tan

Montessori Teacher - Deputy Headteacher

tan-christinaI am a trained Montessori teacher and have worked in both EYFS and Montessori schools in London.

My most recent experience was working at an AMI-base Montessori school in Singapore for the last 2 years.

My greatest sign of success being a Montessori teacher is to be able to say, "My children are now working as if I did not exist."

Stacey Brennan

Montessori Teacher - Deputy Headteacher

StaceyHi my name is Stacey, I have been at Rainbow for fours years.

I have worked at both our Rainbow Nurseries (Queens Park & West Hampstead).

I continue to further my knowledge and experience which I am gaining through continual onsite Montessori training both in the method and the philosophy.

I have a keen interest in the Montessori system of education and I would like to use this experience at Rainbow to also grow in my role as a mother to my 11 year old son.

I am eager to learn more about Montessori and to develop my role further.

I look forward to learning alongside the children at Rainbow and meeting you all!

Maria Maneja Coll

Nursery Teacher

Hi, I am Maria from Barcelona.

I am delighted to join Rainbow Montessori School. I heard a lot about this nursery and it is a pleasure for me to be able to work here.

I arrived in London 3 years ago and I worked as nursery teacher in a Montessori nursery and as tutor in an autistic school. I am also teaching in the Catalan school on Saturdays.

I have more than 10 years’ experience in the education sector. I worked with different models of Spanish schools where I have also held other positions such as coordinator for pre-school education, class leader, and music, science and psychomotor specialist. In addition, I have also worked as an instructor in sports and outdoors environmental activities.  I love traveling and learning about other cultures and nature environments.

I believe in the Montessori teaching methodology. Since I was a child, Montessori has been involved in my life through my family and my Primary School. I cannot wait to learn and put all my knowledge into practice.

 I am ready! 😊

Dushka Vidovic

Montessori Teacher

dushka-jpgAs many of you may know I have worked in the Rainbow Montessori Junior School Head Office as an administrator for a year.

I am now  a qualified Montessori teacher  and was given the opportunity to work in the lovely Sherriff Road Nursery to begin my teaching journey.

I now teach at our  Queens Park Nursery to learn further.

I'm a strong believer in the Montessori method and it's philosophy and I'm very exited to be a part of it.

Natalia Copete Jimenez

Classroom Assistant

Hi, I am Natalia from Valencia although I have lived in many places before coming to London.

I used to work as a Ballet Teacher for kids back in Spain and getting involved with Surf Camp projects for children in Tamil Nadu, India. Now I'm very happy to start my new Montessori career, as I feel passionately about following the child and creating an environment that fosters the child's independence while having fun in a peaceful and respectful environment.

I'm also currently doing my Teaching Yoga to Children Training, discipline that I practice on a daily basis. I feel so blessed to be a member of this amazing community!

Kindest regards,
