With more children staying all day it's lovely to see how independent they've become at lunchtime. Both young and old unpack before one of the older children leads the lunchtime thank you song.

After lunch, they wash up and rinse their plates and glasses, working as a team while developing language and communication skills alongside refining hand eye coordination.

This week we had a visit from Matilda's Mum and Dad who work as Doctors. He came to talk to the children about what happens when you visit the doctor and share some stories about his exciting job. The children were able to handle the apparatus that is used for giving anaesthetics when you have an operation.

On Friday we baked a courgette cake, giving the children plenty of opportunity for grating, a particular skill they showed an interest in last week while baking.
